It is one of the few remaining city-states in the world and the smallest country in Southeast Asia, but its small size encapsulates an economic powerhouse. Since its independence from England in 1963 and Malaysia in 1965, Singapore has become a financial nexus of South and Southeast Asia. Its unique blend of culture, art, cuisine, commerce and architecture will dazzle any visitor.

Singapore is a city-state located at the very southernmost tip of Malaysian peninsula. Like all Southeast Asian nations, Singapore features a dry season and a rainy season. The best times to visit are between Dec and Mar. The rainy season can run from Jun to Nov. As Singapore rests on straits and the ocean on three sides, it can be relieved by excellent breezes during the hottest times of the year. The sun is usually shining and this makes Singapore a desired location for touring and transferring around Asia. The northeast monsoon seasons runs from Nov through the end of Jan. The southwest monsoon seasons can come along in Jun, Jul, Aug or Sep. It is less intense than the northeast monsoon however.
